This is a gorgeous luncheon set: 6 place settings -- includes luncheon plates, cups and saucers and sugar and creamer. These are the No. 35 pattern, also known as Fancy Squares, made by the New Martinsville Glass Company, in West Virginia, circa 1930. This hard-to-find amethyst glass set is Elegant glass, made in the same era as Depression Glass, but nicer.
The luncheon plates are 7 3/8" wide. The saucers are 5 1/4" wide. The cups are 2 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide (plus 7/8" for the handle). The two-handled sugar is 3 5/8" tall and 2 7/8" wide (plus 7/8" each, for the handles). The creamer is 3 3/4" tall and 2 7/8" wide/4 1/4" from handle to spout.
The set is in very good condition, with normal usage marks on the glass and a few tiny chips in the edges of the cut and polished bottom rings of some of the plates.
